Little Rock, Arkansas – As they get ready to present Romeo and Juliet at the Robinson Center, Ballet Arkansas is interacting with the community by asking residents to share their love stories.
Arkansans are being invited to post their love tales on social media between now and Valentine’s Day. By posting a picture of themselves and their significant other on Facebook or Instagram and expressing their love story, they can do this. The hashtag #LRLovestory and the tag Ballet Arkansas are requested.
One of these couples will be chosen on February 1st to receive a bottle of wine, a signed cast poster, and two free tickets to Ballet Arkansas’s Valentine’s Day Romeo and Juliet performance.
To be eligible, contestants must reside within the municipal limits of Little Rock.
The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra will perform live during the Romeo and Juliet performance on the following dates:
• 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025
• 2:30–7:30 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2024
• 2:30 PM on Sunday, February 16, 2024
Romeo and Juliet has a specific value, according to officials. Michael Fothergill, the executive director of Ballet Arkansas, claims that he first got to know Associate Artistic Director Catherine Fothergill when the Alabama Ballet performed Romeo and Juliet in 2014.
During the production, the pair fell in love, and a year later, they became engaged.
They are now bringing the well-liked program to Arkansas.
According to Michael, “Romeo and Juliet is not just an essential production for Arkansas audiences to enjoy — it represents the beginning of our love story.” “Those who enjoy Prokofiev’s classic score, dramatic narratives, and powerful, nuanced dancing will adore this ballet.” Ironically, it’s also perfect for anyone who despises Valentine’s Day and wishes to witness the terrible demise of the star-crossed lovers.
“This classic tale of forbidden love and destiny promises to captivate audiences with its sweeping choreography, emotional depth, and elaborate costumes and sets” Catherine stated. Not to add that over 100 performers are part of the community cast. Communities from all throughout the Natural State are truly coming together.”
