Calico Rock, Arkansas – Arkansas State Police have released additional details about a Saturday morning crash in Calico Rock that left a local woman dead.
The crash happened at approximately 8:34 a.m. on Sept. 26 along State Highway 5 North near Churchill Street, according to a preliminary crash report released by state police.
The victim was identified as Myra Fay Terry, 68, of Calico Rock. Investigators said Terry was traveling southbound on the highway when her vehicle left the roadway while going through a curve.
Terry was driving a 2009 Kia Sportage when the vehicle went off the road and traveled down an embankment. The SUV then struck a tree, according to the preliminary report.
Emergency responders took Terry to Izard County Regional Medical Center following the crash. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The crash occurred during the morning hours on the highway near Churchill Street, and the circumstances surrounding the vehicle leaving the roadway are part of the information included in the preliminary report.
State police released the details as authorities continue documenting the fatal incident. No additional information about other vehicles or people involved was provided in the report.
