Little Rock, Arkansas – Authorities in Arkansas have arrested a man accused of causing a deadly hit-and-run crash in Little Rock that claimed the lives of a woman and two children over the weekend.
According to Arkansas State Police, the crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on May 3 along Arch Street in Little Rock. Investigators said a truck driven by 33-year-old Victor Reyes was traveling northbound when it crossed the center lane and collided head-on with another vehicle.
The impact of the crash proved fatal for everyone inside the second car. Officials said the victims included an adult woman and two minors, all of whom later died from their injuries.
Investigators allege that Reyes fled the scene immediately after the collision instead of remaining at the site of the crash. The incident launched a search effort by law enforcement as authorities worked to locate the suspect.
Two days later, on May 5 at approximately 3 p.m., officers arrested Reyes in connection with the crash. He was booked into the Pulaski County Detention Center, where he remains in custody.
Authorities confirmed that Reyes has been charged with three counts of negligent homicide.
The crash has left many in the Little Rock community shaken as investigators continue piecing together the events that led up to the collision. Officials have not yet released the identities of the victims publicly, and additional details surrounding the circumstances of the crash remain limited.
Deadly head-on collisions continue to be among the most dangerous types of roadway accidents, particularly when vehicles cross traffic lanes unexpectedly. Law enforcement agencies routinely urge drivers to remain alert, avoid reckless behavior, and stay at the scene following any accident involving injuries or fatalities.
Arkansas State Police have not indicated whether additional charges could be filed as the investigation moves forward. Detectives are still reviewing evidence tied to the crash, including what may have caused Reyes to cross into oncoming traffic before the collision occurred.
The case remains under active investigation.
