Arkansas Senator Tom cotton launches re-election bid for 2026

Little Rock, Arkansas – Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas has officially announced his bid for re-election to the United States Senate in the 2026 elections. The Republican senator, who has represented the state since 2015, shared the news in a post on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his enthusiasm for continuing his service to the people of Arkansas.

“It’s been an honor to serve Arkansans, and I’m announcing my campaign for re-election to the Senate,” Cotton wrote in his announcement.

Cotton’s decision to run for a second term comes with significant political backing. In his post, the senator boasted widespread support from across the state. He stated that he has secured endorsements from every statewide Arkansas official, the entire Arkansas congressional delegation, and an overwhelming majority of the state’s Republican state legislators — 108 out of 110, to be exact. Key endorsements include Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Attorney General Tim Griffin, both prominent Republican figures in the state.

In his announcement, Cotton outlined his priorities for a second term, vowing to continue his efforts to secure the nation’s borders, lower costs for Americans, bolster national security, and reverse what he described as the damage caused by the Democratic Party.

Cotton currently holds influential positions in the Senate, including chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and a key leadership role as the Senate Republican Conference chairman. These positions place him third in GOP leadership, giving him a powerful voice in shaping national policy.

In his previous re-election campaign in 2020, Cotton easily secured a victory, winning 66% of the vote against Libertarian candidate Ricky Dale Harrington. No Democratic challenger entered the race at that time.

As Cotton prepares to campaign for another term, his strong network of endorsements and clear focus on national security and economic issues will likely play a central role in his bid for re-election in 2026.
