Arkansas residents can now access their mobile ID through Samsung and Google Wallets for easier identification

Little Rock, Arkansas – Arkansas residents now have a new way to carry their identification digitally as the Arkansas Mobile ID becomes available in Samsung Wallet and Google Wallet. This digital ID, which functions as both a driver’s license and state identification card, can now be accessed directly from smartphones, offering a convenient alternative to traditional physical IDs.

The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) confirmed that the app is free to download and is available for anyone holding an Arkansas driver’s license or state ID. Once enrolled, users can present their Mobile ID at participating businesses and venues as a valid form of identification, providing a seamless and secure option for everyday use.

“The Arkansas Mobile ID offers Arkansans an easy and modern way to carry their identification,” officials said. “It provides the same legal validity as a physical ID while adding convenience and accessibility for residents on the go.”

Since its initial launch in March, the Mobile ID’s reach has expanded significantly. Arkansans can now use the digital ID at TSA checkpoints in over 260 airports across the United States, giving travelers a fast and secure method to verify their identity without reaching for a physical license. This nationwide expansion highlights the growing acceptance of digital identification in both security and everyday transactions.

Looking ahead, the DFA stated that Arkansas Mobile ID is expected to become available for Apple Wallet in 2026. This update will allow iPhone users to enjoy the same seamless functionality, further expanding access to digital identification for residents across the state.

The integration of Mobile ID into popular smartphone wallets reflects a larger trend toward digital convenience and contactless verification. As technology continues to evolve, digital IDs are becoming an increasingly practical solution for travel, business, and entertainment, while still maintaining security standards required by law.

For Arkansans, the addition of Samsung Wallet and Google Wallet compatibility means that a digital ID can now fit into their everyday lives, reducing the need to carry multiple physical cards and offering a quick and secure way to verify identity whenever necessary. The convenience, security, and broadening accessibility of the Arkansas Mobile ID demonstrate the state’s commitment to modernizing identification options for all residents.
