ARDOT to host public meeting to gather community input on proposed intersection improvements at Highway 25 and Elliott Road

Arkansas – The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) has announced a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements to the intersection of Highway 25 and Elliott Road in Faulkner County. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church, located at 676 Highway 25 West, Greenbrier, Arkansas, 72058.

The meeting will provide residents, commuters, and other stakeholders an opportunity to learn more about the proposed intersection enhancements and provide their input directly to ARDOT officials. Attendees will have access to meeting materials online prior to the session, ensuring that the community is fully informed about the project scope and potential impacts.

Residents who are unable to attend in person can still submit comments until 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28. Comments can be submitted via an online form on ARDOT’s website, or printed and mailed to Environmental Division, P.O. Box 2261, Little Rock, AR 72203-2261. For those without internet access, ARDOT staff are available to answer questions about the project by contacting Matt Strawn at (501) 569-2281 or via email at [email protected]. Additionally, a Spanish translation of the website and materials is available to ensure accessibility for all community members.

The proposed improvements are aimed at enhancing safety, improving traffic flow, and reducing congestion at this key intersection. While specific project details will be discussed during the meeting, the initiative represents ARDOT’s ongoing commitment to modernizing infrastructure and addressing community concerns. Public input is a critical component of the planning process, allowing residents to voice concerns, ask questions, and suggest improvements that reflect local priorities.

In addition to project-specific information, ARDOT emphasizes its dedication to civil rights and nondiscrimination in all programs and activities. The department complies with federal statutes and related authorities prohibiting discrimination based on race, sex, color, age, national origin, or disability in access to programs, activities, and employment practices. ARDOT does not consider religion as a protected group under the FMCSA Title VI Program. Any complaints of alleged discrimination or inquiries regarding nondiscrimination policies may be directed to Civil Rights Officer Joanna P. McFadden, ADA/504/Title VI Coordinator, at P.O. Box 2261, Little Rock, AR 72203, or by calling (501) 569-2298 (Voice/TTY 711). She can also be reached via email at [email protected].

The meeting is open to the public, and ARDOT encourages all interested stakeholders to attend, ask questions, and provide input. Such engagement ensures that the community has a voice in shaping infrastructure projects that affect daily commutes, safety, and overall traffic efficiency. Public involvement meetings like this one are a key part of ARDOT’s transparent planning process and demonstrate the agency’s dedication to balancing project goals with the needs of local residents.

This intersection improvement project is part of ARDOT’s larger strategy to maintain and improve transportation corridors across the state. Highway 25 is a critical route for commuters, local businesses, and emergency services, making intersection safety and efficiency a top priority for both ARDOT and the Faulkner County community. The public meeting will serve as a forum for stakeholders to review preliminary plans, ask questions, and provide feedback that may shape the final project design.

The proposed intersection project and the associated public involvement meeting underscore ARDOT’s commitment to community-centered planning, safety, and accessibility, and highlight the importance of public participation in shaping the future of Arkansas transportation infrastructure.
