All westbound lanes on Interstate 40 remain blocked near Maumelle following a crash causing major traffic delays

Maumelle, Arkansas – Traffic on Interstate 40 westbound came to a standstill on Wednesday afternoon following a crash just outside Maumelle, according to officials with IDrive Arkansas. As of 1:28 p.m., all westbound lanes at Mile Marker 144.5 remain blocked, causing significant delays for drivers in the area.

Traffic cameras operated by IDrive show vehicles backed up to the White Oak Crossing exit, leaving commuters stuck in heavy congestion. Drivers are being urged to exercise caution, allow extra travel time, and seek alternate routes if possible.

Officials have not yet released details regarding the cause of the crash or whether any injuries were reported. Emergency crews and law enforcement are on the scene managing traffic and assessing the situation, though no further information has been made available.
