Little Rock, Arkansas – Mildred Jones believes that while every birthday holds significance, the secret to reaching 100 years is to embrace each day as it comes.
On Sunday, her family came together at Brookdale Chenal Heights to honor a life beautifully lived.
Mildred’s two daughters, Leisa Hiltermann and Linda Jackson, are present among the cake and ice cream.
“I feel fortunate as well because at my advanced age, I still have my mother with me,” Hiltermann expressed. “I couldn’t wish for anything better.”
At the remarkable age of 103, her older brother Harold joined in to sing happy birthday to his sister.
Mildred cherishes the memories she has collected over a century, but unfortunately, she is starting to lose them due to her battle with dementia.
“It’s challenging, but I’ve figured out how to manage it,” Jackson stated. “In a century, she will be able to achieve and possess anything she desires.”
Mildred’s children affirm that she is clear about her passions: painting, napping, and, above all, her family, which she believes will remain constant throughout her life.
