Benton. Arkansas – Every family has a custom that unites them and enables them to laugh and share memories.
For the Tidwell family, Family Feud is one of the most-watched game programs in America.
Lisa Tidwell, laughing with her sisters while watching the show on TV, remarked, “Good answer, good answer.” The family had a lifelong goal of appearing on their favorite show.
According to Tasha Lewis, her sister Andrea Coleman applied after she spent years wishing they might have appeared on the show.
Lewis remarked, “We simply never would have imagined that our family from central Arkansas would ever be on Family Feud.”
However, that changed when Coleman received a call in April of last year.
“Andrea, this is Ava from Family Feud,” she stated over the phone. “I said, ‘No, you’re lying,’ and she responded, ‘No, I’m not,'” Coleman recalled.
After five years and multiple tryouts, the Tidwell family’s dream was eventually realized.
“They put us in a hotel and flew us out, and everything was excellent and professional,” Coleman remarked.
Before the show was filmed, they met Steve Harvey and his production team for the first time during a week-long stay in Atlanta.
Coleman remarked, “Lisa was our team captain; she did a great job representing us.”
The women expressed gratitude for the chance and said the show made them closer as a family.
They claimed that in remembrance of their deceased great-grandmother, they adopted the last name Tidwell.
“I know she’s proud,” Coleman remarked, “I would say it was the experience of a lifetime.”
