Several hours after the incident was first reported, the roadway remained blocked.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., the Independence County Sheriff’s Office said State Highway 25 was still closed and that the closure would continue for an indefinite amount of time.

Authorities advised drivers traveling through the area to avoid the blocked section of the highway and use another route.

The sheriff’s office encouraged motorists to use the alternate route rather than approaching the closed portion of State Highway 25.

No specific time was provided for when the highway would reopen.

The crash occurred during the Friday morning travel period, with the initial report coming shortly after 6:30 a.m. By 8:30 a.m., authorities were still describing the roadway as blocked.

Officials did not provide additional information about how many vehicles were involved beyond ARDOT’s statement that at least one commercial motor vehicle was part of the crash.
