Little Rock, Arkansas – Gas prices across Arkansas and the nation remained mostly steady during the final week of July, according to the latest report from AAA officials. While some small changes were recorded, drivers in the state saw little difference at the pump compared with the previous week.
AAA reported Thursday that the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline in Arkansas was $3.77. The price was down one cent from Wednesday and two cents lower than the previous week’s average, showing only a slight shift in recent days.
Despite the small weekly decline, Arkansas drivers are still paying more than they were at the same time last year. According to AAA data, the average price a year ago was 98 cents lower than the current statewide average.
Gas prices continued to vary depending on location throughout Arkansas. Among the state’s largest metropolitan areas, the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers area recorded the highest average price, with drivers paying about $3.82 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel.

Meanwhile, the Hot Springs area reported the lowest average among major metropolitan regions, with prices averaging $3.67 per gallon.
In central Arkansas, the Little Rock-North Little Rock metropolitan area reported an average price of $3.73 per gallon, which matched the average in Pine Bluff. Other areas saw larger differences, with White County posting the lowest average price statewide at $3.65 per gallon.
At the opposite end of the range, Montgomery County recorded the highest average in Arkansas for the week, with prices reaching $4.12 per gallon.
Across the country, AAA said the national average also showed limited movement. The national average price for regular gasoline stood at $4.10 per gallon, which was one cent higher than the previous week.
Fuel prices continued to differ significantly from state to state. Indiana reported the lowest average gas price in the country at $3.57 per gallon, while California remained the most expensive state for drivers, with an average price of $5.65 per gallon.

AAA officials said several factors can influence gasoline prices, including regional market conditions, supply levels, and other changes affecting fuel costs. Even small fluctuations in wholesale prices can impact what drivers see when filling up their vehicles.
