“This keeps our fire department here local. It keeps us from having to farm them out to other states and things like that for their training so being able to stay right here in Central Arkansas and Benton is going to give them ability to better serve our citizens,” said Russell Evans.
Previously, firefighters from Benton had to travel to other locations to access similar live-fire training environments. That process often required additional time, coordination, and resources, which city leaders say the new facility will now eliminate.
