Conway, Arkansas – Authorities in Conway, Arkansas are actively investigating a reported bomb threat that prompted a precautionary response at a local school on Tuesday, leading to an evacuation and a heavy police presence in the area.

The Conway Police Department confirmed that it is currently looking into the reported threat at Conway Junior High School. While details about the origin or credibility of the threat have not yet been released, officials moved quickly to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Out of an abundance of caution, the school campus was evacuated shortly after the report was received. Students and staff were moved to a safe location while law enforcement began securing the area and initiating standard safety protocols.

Police emphasized that, at this stage, there is no indication of immediate danger to the public. However, the situation remains under active investigation as the bomb squad conducts a careful and thorough sweep of the campus to rule out any potential risk.

The presence of emergency vehicles and law enforcement personnel was visible around the school, with officers working to control access points and maintain order during the operation. Officials are asking the public to stay clear of the area to allow emergency crews to work without interruption.

Drivers are being specifically urged to avoid the intersection near Donaghey Ave and Prince Street, where traffic disruptions have been reported due to the ongoing response. Police say keeping the area clear is essential for ensuring that emergency teams can carry out their work efficiently and safely.

While the investigation is still in its early stages, authorities have not released additional information regarding potential suspects or the nature of the threat. The focus remains on securing the school grounds and confirming that there are no hazards present.

Community members in the area have been asked to remain patient as the investigation unfolds. Authorities stress that even when threats turn out to be unfounded, every report is treated seriously to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the wider public.

The Conway Police Department is expected to release further updates once the sweep of the school is complete and more details are confirmed.
