Little Rock, Arkansas – Former Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to visit Arkansas next month, delivering the keynote address at the Democratic Party of Arkansas’ Fisher Shackelford Dinner in Little Rock on April 25. The event will take place at the Wally Allen Ballroom at the Little Rock Convention Center, honoring Debrah Mitchell, Rep. Tippi McCullough, and Addie Jones.
The Democratic Party of Arkansas (DPA) announced the visit Thursday morning, describing Harris’ appearance as a historic opportunity for the state. Tickets for the event are now available to the public, providing residents a chance to attend the highly anticipated evening.
“We are so honored for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said DPA Vice Chair Jannie Cotton. “I have worked tirelessly to bring her to Arkansas and to make this happen, and I can’t wait to share this historic evening with all of you.”
Harris’ visit comes as she continues a series of appearances across the U.S. South in April, including planned fundraisers in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. The trip underscores her ongoing involvement in Democratic events and efforts to support party candidates and initiatives throughout the region.

The announcement quickly drew a response from the Republican Party of Arkansas (RPA), which criticized Harris’ visit and linked it to Democratic Senate candidate Hallie Shoffner.
“The Republican Party of Arkansas condemns Democratic Senate candidate Hallie Shoffner for bringing failed former Vice President Kamala Harris to campaign in Arkansas for Shoffner,” the RPA said in a statement. “Hallie Shoffner, who donated to Harris, is rolling out the red carpet for one of America’s most far left and radical politicians.”
The debate over Harris’ visit reflects the larger national divide between party perspectives. DPA highlighted Harris’ accomplishments in strengthening global alliances and addressing domestic issues such as child poverty and gun violence. By contrast, RPA criticized her record on inflation and border security, framing the visit as politically motivated.
Despite the partisan responses, Harris’ presence at the Fisher Shackelford Dinner signals the importance the Democratic Party places on energizing supporters and recognizing local leaders. The event promises a combination of speeches, awards, and networking opportunities for party members and attendees, while also drawing attention to national political issues.
As the April 25 dinner approaches, both parties are preparing for heightened attention. Harris’ visit is expected to attract media coverage, local supporters, and political observers, highlighting the ongoing significance of Arkansas in upcoming elections.
For the Democratic Party of Arkansas, Harris’ keynote is seen as a historic highlight, while for the Republican Party, it has become a focal point for criticism and debate. The event will not only celebrate local achievements but also serve as a stage for national political discourse.
With multiple stops across the South, Harris’ Arkansas visit is just one part of a broader effort to connect with Democratic constituents and reinforce the party’s presence in key states during a politically active spring.
