Little Rock, Arkansas – The Little Rock Compassion Center is calling on the community for support as it prepares to host its annual Easter service and holiday dinner. Officials say the event, scheduled for April 5, is expected to welcome a record crowd of 700 to 800 guests, making donations crucial to ensure every attendee receives a hearty meal.
The planned menu includes ham, fresh vegetables, mashed potatoes, and homemade fruit cobbler for dessert. To make this possible, the center is seeking more than 50 hams, along with potatoes, onions, peppers, lettuce, and other fresh vegetables. Both individual-sized and industrial-sized canned goods are also needed to fill food boxes and supplement meals served at the center.
“Every donation helps us make the holiday special for those in need,” officials said. “We rely on the generosity of our community to provide meals and care for our guests during this important time.”
Donations can be dropped off at the Compassion Center, located at 3618 W. Roosevelt Street, throughout the week leading up to the event. Financial contributions are also welcomed and can be made through the center’s website, allowing supporters to help even if they cannot provide physical items.
The Easter dinner is one of the center’s largest annual events, bringing together community members, volunteers, and local residents in need. Organizers emphasize that the goal is not only to provide a meal but also to create a welcoming and joyful environment for those who may be facing difficult circumstances.
By supplying food, volunteers, or financial assistance, community members can play a direct role in ensuring that everyone attending the event has access to a nutritious and festive meal. Officials encourage early donations to allow staff and volunteers enough time to prepare for the anticipated turnout.
With Easter approaching, the Compassion Center hopes to meet its donation goals and make this year’s event one of the most successful in its history, providing comfort, nourishment, and a sense of community to hundreds of people in Little Rock.
For anyone interested in helping, the center reminds residents that contributions of any size are appreciated and directly support the preparation of meals, the distribution of food boxes, and the overall success of the Easter celebration.
