Vehicle crash causes major delays and blocks multiple lanes on Interstate 40 in Faulkner County

Conway, Arkansas – Traffic came to a slow crawl Monday afternoon on westbound Interstate 40 in Faulkner County after a vehicle crash near Mile Marker 126. The incident caused congestion across multiple lanes as crews worked to clear the roadway.

According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s IDrive Arkansas service, the crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m., affecting the center and right lanes of the interstate, as well as the right shoulder just before exit 125 to Skyline Drive. Drivers traveling in the area experienced delays as emergency personnel and cleanup crews managed the scene.

A fire truck from the Conway Fire Department was on site to assist in clearing debris and ensuring the safety of motorists. Traffic was temporarily slowed while crews coordinated the cleanup, prompting drivers to seek alternate routes to avoid extended delays.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the crash, according to an ARDOT crash report. Authorities emphasized that the incident was handled swiftly, and lanes were gradually reopened as the roadway was cleared.
