Little Rock Animal Village is making it easier to adopt pets by waiving all adoption fees for a limited time

Little Rock, Arkansas – For those thinking about bringing a furry companion into their lives, now might be the perfect time. The Little Rock Animal Village (LRAV) is waiving all adoption fees this Friday and Saturday, giving animals a greater chance of finding permanent homes.

The shelter announced that on August 8 and 9, all adoption fees will be completely free. This means potential pet parents can adopt a dog or cat without paying the usual cost. It’s a move that shelter officials hope will encourage more people to adopt and help reduce the number of animals currently in their care.

Every animal adopted during this event will come with important services already taken care of. “Adopted animals will be sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped,” LRAV officials confirmed. This ensures that adopters receive healthy pets and helps prevent future overpopulation.

The adoption fee waiver is part of a broader push to find loving homes for the many animals waiting in the shelter. Visitors are welcome to stop by the Little Rock Animal Village at 4500 Kramer Street, between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Although the special offer is for Friday and Saturday only, the shelter encourages visitors to come throughout the week to get familiar with the animals.

Photos of some of the available pets can be found at FriendsoftheAnimalVillage.org, but shelter staff note that even more dogs and cats are available onsite. Meeting the animals in person can often make all the difference.

Waiving adoption fees not only reduces barriers for potential adopters, but also helps relieve the shelter of overcrowding—something many shelters across the country are currently dealing with. Events like this give animals the chance to start a new chapter and give families the joy of a new pet, all at no cost.

For anyone looking for a loyal companion, this weekend might just be the best time to visit the Little Rock Animal Village and meet a future best friend.
