Little Rock Police Officers under administrative leave following involved shooting on Southridge Drive

Little Rock, Arkansas – An officer-involved shooting is under investigation following an incident that took place on the afternoon of July 5, 2025, in the 11000 block of Southridge Drive. According to the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD), officers responded to a call reporting shots fired at approximately 5:02 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers heard gunfire coming from the back of the house.

As they approached the rear of the property, the officers encountered a male suspect who pointed a weapon at them. In response to the threat, shots were fired by the officers, and the suspect retreated back into the house. While inside the home, the suspect came into contact with another officer, resulting in another exchange of gunfire.

During this second encounter, the suspect was struck and sustained injuries. The suspect was promptly taken into custody and provided medical treatment by the Little Rock Fire Department’s MEMS team for non-life-threatening injuries.

The LRPD has placed the officers involved in the shooting on administrative leave as the investigation unfolds. This is a standard procedure in such cases to ensure a thorough and impartial review of the incident. The department has stated that more details will be released as the investigation progresses.

At this time, the names of the officers involved and the suspect have not been disclosed. The LRPD has urged the public to remain patient as the investigation continues, and they have assured that all available information will be shared as it becomes available.
