Baja Grill shares emotional farewell as it prepares to close Little Rock location after 11 years

Little Rock, Arkansas – After more than a decade of serving up tacos, burritos, and memories, Baja Grill has announced that its beloved location in the Heights neighborhood of Little Rock will permanently close at the end of June.

The announcement came Thursday in an emotional social media post that left many longtime fans and regulars heartbroken. The owners confirmed that the restaurant’s last day of operation at this location will be June 28.

“This is not just a goodbye, my darling, this is a thank you,” the post read. “After 11 beautiful years, it is with the heaviest of hearts that we say goodbye. This is not easy, and it is certainly not what we want, but it is sadly what is our reality. Each and every one of us want to say thank you for loving us. Thank you for letting us watch your children grow up. Thank you for spending your special days here. Thank you for coming here on your bad days to let us cheer you up. Thank you for all the laughs and thank you for all the love.”

Baja Grill, which quickly became a local favorite after opening in the Heights in 2013, was known for its creative take on Tex-Mex cuisine and welcoming atmosphere. Over the years, it turned into more than just a neighborhood restaurant—it became part of the community’s rhythm, a go-to spot for casual dinners, celebrations, and comfort food.

While the closure of the Little Rock location is final, there is some good news for fans of the restaurant: the Benton location of Baja Grill will remain open. The restaurant team emphasized their continued commitment to their guests and encouraged everyone to support small businesses in the area.

They also made a heartfelt appeal to the public: support your local restaurants and be kind to those working in the hospitality industry.

Though no specific reason was given for the closure, the tone of the message reflected how difficult the decision was for the team behind Baja Grill. With emotions running high, the restaurant invited customers to stop by the Heights location over the next few weeks to share stories, relive memories, and say goodbye.

As the countdown to closing day begins, many in the community are expected to flock to the Heights one last time for their favorite Baja dishes—and to thank the staff who made this spot feel like home for 11 unforgettable years.
