Little Rock Police begin investigation after woman dies from gunshot wounds on South Rodney Parham

Little Rock, Arkansas – Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that took place late Tuesday morning in a residential area of Little Rock, marking another tragic incident in the city’s ongoing struggle with gun violence.

According to the Little Rock Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of South Rodney Parham around 10:54 a.m. on June 10 in response to a report of gunfire. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency responders from MEMS provided immediate medical assistance and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, the woman succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving.

The area was quickly secured by responding officers as homicide detectives launched a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. As of now, no arrests have been made and the identity of the victim has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Police have not released any details about possible suspects or motives, and it remains unclear whether the shooting was targeted or random. Investigators are asking anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.

“This is a tragic situation and we are working diligently to piece together exactly what happened,” said a spokesperson for the Little Rock Police Department. “Our detectives are actively reviewing evidence and speaking with potential witnesses.”

The scene remained active for several hours on Tuesday as investigators canvassed the area for clues and gathered evidence. Patrol officers also increased their presence in the neighborhood as a precaution.

The incident adds to a growing number of violent crimes reported in the city this year, raising concerns among residents and city officials. Local leaders continue to call for increased community engagement and stronger efforts to reduce violence on the streets.
