Little Rock man arrested after being connected to a fatal shooting that took place in August 2023

Little Rock, Arkansas – A Little Rock man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that took place in August 2023, according to local authorities. The arrest was made following an extensive investigation into the incident that shocked the community.

The shooting occurred in the early morning hours of August 12, 2023, just after 3:30 a.m. Officers were called to Richsmith Circle in response to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, authorities discovered two juveniles suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Tragically, one of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second juvenile was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

After months of investigation, the Little Rock Police Department was able to make an arrest. On June 3, 2025, 19-year-old Jacarree Bass was taken into custody. He now faces serious charges including capital murder, first-degree battery, and a terroristic act.

The authorities have not disclosed additional details about the circumstances leading to the shooting or Bass’ involvement, but the case has raised significant concern in the community. The tragic loss of life, especially involving juveniles, has sparked an outcry for increased measures to combat violence in the area.
