Widespread power outages affecting multiple counties in Region 8 following severe storms early Sunday morning

Jonesboro, Arkansas – Severe storms that swept through the Region 8 area on Sunday morning, May 25, caused widespread power outages, leaving thousands without electricity. As of 3:50 p.m. on the same day, many of the outages had been resolved, but several areas were still experiencing interruptions to their power supply.

The most significant outages were reported by Jonesboro City Water & Light, which saw a power disruption affecting parts of Craighead County. In total, three outages were noted within the region, but utility workers had been actively addressing these issues.

The full list of counties affected by Entergy Arkansas outages included White (1), Sharp (5), Clay (1), Fulton (18), and Cross (6), among others.

In addition to the major providers, other electric cooperatives like Pemiscot-Dunklin Electric Cooperative also reported significant power issues. As crews continue to work on restoring power, officials urge residents to remain cautious and report any downed power lines or dangerous conditions to local authorities. While much of the power has been restored, some outages remain in rural and less accessible areas, making the recovery process slower in these regions.

Utility companies are working tirelessly to get power back to normal levels, and residents are hopeful that the remaining outages will be resolved soon. Emergency services have been on alert, ready to assist where necessary as the storm’s aftermath continues to affect the area.
