Little Rock, Arkansas – Justice Cody Hiland has officially announced his candidacy for a full term as an Associate Justice on the Arkansas Supreme Court, seeking to secure the Position 6 seat. With a strong foundation in legal expertise and a long history of public service, Hiland is aiming to continue his work on the state’s highest court.

Hiland brings with him a wealth of experience that spans over a decade in public service, which has shaped his approach to justice and the law. He was first elected as the Prosecuting Attorney for the 20th Judicial District, covering Faulkner, Van Buren, and Searcy counties, in both 2010 and 2014. During his tenure as Prosecuting Attorney, Hiland received the 2017 “Champion of Justice” Award from the Arkansas Prosecuting Attorneys Association, recognizing his dedication to justice and his effective leadership in the legal community.
His experience in the legal field further expanded when he was appointed by President Donald J. Trump to serve as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas. From 2017 to 2020, Hiland focused on combating violent crime, a crucial issue in the state. Following his tenure as U.S. Attorney, Hiland took on the role of Chief Legal Counsel for the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, where he worked closely with state agencies to ensure the integrity of legal processes.
More recently, Hiland has had the honor of serving on the Arkansas Supreme Court, where he was appointed twice to two-year terms, in 2022 and again in 2024. His time on the court has only strengthened his resolve to continue working for the people of Arkansas, upholding the state’s Constitution and reinforcing the rule of law.
