Authorities in Little Rock have identified the young victim who lost his life in a recent South Cross Street shooting

Little Rock, Arkansas – A deadly shooting over the weekend in Little Rock has left one man dead and several others injured, according to the Little Rock Police Department, which has now released the name of the victim.

Officers were called to the 3000 block of South Cross Street shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, responding to reports of gunfire in the area. When they arrived, they found 21-year-old Sergio Toney suffering from gunshot wounds inside a residence.

Despite efforts from medical personnel who attempted life-saving measures at the scene, Toney was pronounced dead.

“Police said medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but Toney died at the scene.”

As the investigation unfolded, detectives discovered that three additional people were also injured in the same incident. Authorities have not released the names or conditions of the other victims, and few details have been made public about what led to the violence.

The Little Rock Police Department confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and officials have not said whether they have identified any suspects. Investigators are continuing to collect evidence and interview potential witnesses.

“Investigators with the Little Rock Police Department said officers responded to a shooting in the 3000 block of South Cross Street shortly after 5:30 p.m. Saturday.”

The deadly encounter has added to growing concerns in the city as gun violence continues to impact communities. The LRPD is urging anyone with information about what happened Saturday evening to come forward, hoping public tips will help them move the case forward.

“Police officials have not made an arrest in the shooting.”

As family and friends mourn the loss of a young man, questions remain unanswered about what caused the violence that erupted in a quiet residential area. The investigation remains active, and police say they are working diligently to find out who is responsible.
