North Little Rock, Arkansas – After significant flooding caused road closures across parts of North Little Rock last week, city officials have announced that some roads are now open once again. The Dark Hallow area, including roads leading from East 13th and Curtis Sykes/15th Street, as well as the south end of North Hills Boulevard, are now accessible to motorists.
According to officials, water levels in these areas dropped overnight, allowing crews to clear the way and re-open the roads. Despite the improvements, authorities are urging drivers to remain cautious. While some areas are passable again, residual water and debris may still pose hazards.
However, not all roads in the area are back to normal just yet. Remount Road, stretching from Spriggs Road to Maryland Avenue, remains closed through the weekend. Crews are currently working to repair a culvert that was damaged by the floodwaters. The restoration efforts are expected to be completed by next week, at which point Remount Road is anticipated to reopen.
Flooding has posed a significant challenge for North Little Rock, affecting not only the roads but also the daily commute and the general well-being of the community. As work continues, city officials are encouraging residents to stay informed about road conditions and exercise caution when traveling.
For now, though, there is relief for some parts of the city as access to key roads is restored. With continued efforts from the city’s crews and the lowering of water levels, North Little Rock is on its way to fully recovering from the recent flooding.
