Amid a budget crunch, the White Hall church offers to cover Jefferson County employees’ water costs

White Hall, Arkansas – One local church chose to take action on Saturday to lessen the financial strain on Jefferson County employees as the county struggles to establish a budget for 2025.

Being compassionate can make a big difference, and for Tony Webster, it keeps the water flowing.

One of the bills he has been having trouble paying since the Jefferson County government stopped down due to its inability to enact a 2025 budget is his water bill. denying its workers a living wage

Travis Creekmore serves as a pastor at White Hall’s New Harvest Church of God. He is proposing to use the church’s resources to assist anyone affected by the budget problem in Jefferson County.

According to Creekmore, “Some people will come through today and they really don’t know what their future holds for them.”

The church promised to cover the cost, provide food, and provide prayers for people who need assistance there.

Many people in Jefferson County are expecting that a budget for 2025 will be passed in the interim.

According to Creekmore, they spent more than $5,000 in water bills while serving about 40 customers on Saturday.
