City Year Little Rock commemorates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with its annual day of service

Little Rock, Arkansas – A local nonprofit paid tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Saturday by contributing to the community.

City Year volunteers came together at McDermott Elementary School for their yearly service event.

They collaborated to paint sections of the building, crafted blankets for The Van, and distributed hygiene packets to students requiring assistance.

City Year announced that they have been engaged in this initiative for two decades, highlighting it as an excellent means to pay tribute to King’s legacy.

Jennifer Cobb, executive director for City Year Little Rock, expressed, “It’s a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the community and pay tribute to Dr. King’s legacy.” “Our t-shirts convey a powerful message: ‘Everybody can be great because everyone can serve’.”

City Year engages in service events throughout the year and is actively seeking young adults to join its ‘Year of service’ program.

Adults aged 18 to 25 are being sought for a year of service. For more details, please visit CityYear.org.
