2nd sobriety ball hosted by NEA Divine Intervention

Jonesboro, Arkansas – The goal of Saturday’s Jonesboro masquerade event was to provide entertainment for those in recovery.

NEA Divine Intervention hosted its second Sobriety Ball on December 28.

The theme this year was masquerade, and dozens of individuals enjoyed themselves while donning masks.

According to Nicole Hanners, a peer support specialist, NEA Divine Intervention organized the ball all year long.

She remarked, “It’s about having fun in recovery.” Sober, you can enjoy yourself. We’re ending the year on a high note and starting the next one off well.

A non-profit organization called NEA Divine Intervention assists individuals in their addiction recovery.

Hanners has seen several of her peers since the first day of their recovery, and she claims to have gone through recovery herself.

“You see them at their lowest point, and it almost makes me cry,” she remarked. “I can recall being in such circumstance myself. It’s truly an incredible experience when you see someone who has lost all hope and has no sparkle in their eyes, and you get to accompany them on their road to recovery. When they arrive at an event like this, fully decked up, it’s just remarkable.

There was a silent auction, games, music, food, and a 360-degree picture booth.

The group that helps people with housing, treatment alternatives, and other forms of support will benefit from the money generated.

Anyone can take funds and volunteer, according to Hanners. The address of NEA Divine Intervention is 2408 Phillips Drive.
