Donation box stolen during the break-in at the Garland County library

Garland County, Arkansas – After a break-in on Christmas morning, Garland County Library staff are still feeling uneasy.

It’s the first break-in at the building in over 30 years, according to library director Adam Webb.
According to Webb, “We were all kind of roused from our Christmas morning routines.” “I came up here and discovered that both our exterior and interior doors were broken.”

They also saw that there was no donation box at the library.

“One way patrons have been contributing to the process is through the money we’ve been raising for the library’s remodel,” Webb explained.

According to Webb, the box most likely contained $50.

“It made the staff a little nervous,” Webb said. “Obviously, it feels like a violation to be broken into.”

One patron of the library concurred that the break-in makes her uncomfortable.

Kelly Brezonick stated, “It is frightening to consider that they could simply walk in and take everything that people have been putting a lot of effort into renovating this place.”

According to Hot Springs police, no suspects are being held.
