Hundreds of older people in central Arkansas enjoy a holiday meal of Christmas dinner

North Little Rock, Arkansas – On Saturday, hundreds of elders received a delectable Christmas luncheon as part of an Episcopal church social outreach program.

A senior in central Arkansas has the opportunity to enjoy the holidays with a full stomach and a joyful heart, even if it’s not what you would imagine a U-Haul to be transporting.

St. Francis House provided elders at several sites throughout the region with a Christmas supper.

Quadel Muslem was among those who were fed at Willow House in North Little Rock. “This food box is so much more,” he says.

“During the Christmas season, it kind of makes fulfillment and happiness in the spirit of giving,” Muslem added.

According to Linda King, St. Francis’ outreach coordinator, they may deliver 600–700 boxes in a single morning.

“We have three U-hauls operating, we have an assembly line set up, and all the boxes are packed,” King stated. “And it leaves as soon as it is loaded.”

Watching the Episcopal Collegiate School teenage volunteers provide some Christmas cheer to the elderly was her favorite part, she added.
