The USPS in Little Rock is diligently ensuring that letters to Santa are delivered and that packages find their way under the tree

Little Rock, Arkansas – The peak season at the USPS Little Rock Processing & Distribution Center is now underway.

In Little Rock, the United States Postal Service is functioning like one of Santa’s workshops, ensuring that letters reach the North Pole and packages find their way under the tree.

“We transitioned from 100,000 packages in late November to 200,000 now, so there’s a significant difference. It’s the busiest time, doubling the workload,” stated Plant Manager Paul Rowe.

Approximately 600 workers, referred to as “elves,” including Rowe, are engaged in round-the-clock operations at the facility, as well as on the roads to ensure timely delivery from point A to point B.

USPS’s “Operation Santa” gathers an impressive volume of letters addressed to Old Saint Nick, totaling in the hundreds of thousands.

When your letter reaches the North Pole, the nice children receive a response directly from Santa Claus.

“This program has been around for as long as I can remember, and it truly benefits children,” Rowe stated.

A variety of machines assist in the process, streamlining tasks and enhancing efficiency for workers.

“Everything here is largely automated, which is fantastic. It accelerates the process, allowing us to handle a significant volume of mail,” Rowe stated.

The elves are busy right up until Christmas Day, catering to those last-minute shoppers. The suggested shipping deadlines for the holiday season are as follows: December 18 for First-Class Mail and Ground Mail, December 19 for Priority Mail, and December 21 for Priority Express Mail.
