The capital city celebrates Christmas with annual parade and lighting of Arkansas State Capitol

Little Rock, Arkansas – The holiday season in the capital city is best welcomed with two annual celebrations that have been a tradition for over ten years.

The Little Rock Christmas parade attracted numerous families from the community, with attendees like Kendra Williams expressing that it brings joy to all who participate.

“Witnessing the happiness and smiles of individuals, you never really know what struggles they might be facing, so being present in a peaceful environment is truly a worthwhile experience,” Williams remarked.

The event featured lively entertainment, kicking off with high school marching bands, and included a special appearance by Santa Claus and the Grinch, courtesy of the North Little Rock Fire and Emergency Crew.

A number of organizations also dedicated their time to the effort. surprising many newcomers, including Linsay Sbendesen.

“It’s been fantastic; we’re always on the lookout for enjoyable Christmas activities to share with the family, and this is our first experience,” Sbendesen remarked.

The festivities carried on at the State Capital with the Lighting Ceremony.

Officials from the state capitol convened on a single stage to make various announcements prior to the lighting ceremony, with former Razorback D.J. Williams serving as the event’s host.

Shortly after 6 p.m., fireworks erupted, culminating in the illumination of the capitol.
