Community in Hot Springs supports King Kone owners following accident

Hot Springs, Arkansas – The proprietor of the beloved Hot Springs establishment King Kone was involved in an accident almost two weeks ago, resulting in multiple surgeries and a challenging recovery process ahead.

Located on Malvern Avenue in Hot Springs, King Kone has been a family-owned and operated establishment since 1971.

According to manager Steven Pruitt, King Kone is a beloved fixture in Hot Springs.

“It holds significant importance for the community,” he stated. “This establishment has been a staple for quite some time, recognized as one of the top dining spots in Hot Springs.”

Brent and Tera Drain, who have been running King Kone for three generations, experienced a significant shift in their lives two weeks ago when Brent was involved in an accident while driving his 18-wheeler.

Betsy Efird, a family friend, attends church alongside the Drains.

“He has undergone approximately five surgeries so far and faces a lengthy recovery ahead,” Efird stated.

They are making an effort to express their affection for the Drains, and it can be as easy as purchasing a milkshake.

“A member of our church proposed that we encourage our connect group to invite people to dine here as a means of offering support, and that’s a straightforward and meaningful way for individuals to demonstrate their care during this challenging period,” Efird stated.

Pruitt noted that there has been an increase in customers coming in and placing larger orders lately, all in an effort to assist a family and business they hold dear.

“There’s been an outpouring of support, from text messages and donations to people ordering food and leaving money, along with numerous phone calls and community outreach,” Pruitt stated.

King Kone operates six days a week, welcoming customers from 10 AM to 7 PM. The family expressed their gratitude for the support and prayers they have received during this period. For additional information about the business, visit their Facebook page.
