University of Arkansas at Monticello announces launch of UAM Kids University summer program for elementary students

Monticello, Arkansas – The University of Arkansas at Monticello is gearing up to welcome a younger crowd to campus this summer through a special initiative designed just for kids. The new program, called UAM Kids’ University, will offer elementary students an opportunity to explore, create, and learn in a relaxed, fun environment.

Targeted toward students entering grades 1 through 6 in the upcoming school year, the four-day day camp will run from July 7 to July 10. The university aims to give children a chance to dive into new subjects, develop their creativity, and gain confidence—without the pressure of tests or grades.

According to university officials, the camp is meant to provide enrichment through hands-on activities and interactive learning experiences. “UAM Kids’ University is a day camp created to introduce young scholars to new interests, exercise creativity and imagination to promote learning in a non-graded environment,” a release stated.

Registration for the program is already open and will continue through May 31 for those who want to take advantage of the early sign-up fee of $80. After that date, the price increases to $100 for registrations submitted between June 1 and June 26. For those registering after June 26, the cost rises to $125.

Each registered child will receive a t-shirt and necessary supplies once payment is completed. Organizers note that a separate form and payment are required for each child attending. Payments can be made by check—payable to UAM Kids’ University—and mailed to:
Attn: Rebecca Newton, P.O. Box 3608, Monticello, AR 71656.

Organizers hope that this summer camp will spark curiosity and build a lasting connection between young learners and the world of higher education. With an engaging mix of educational activities and playful exploration, UAM Kids’ University is shaping up to be a promising summer adventure for many Arkansas children.
